What financial year does Tazk POS use?
The Indian financial year, April to March. The dashboard’s Net Profit, Gross Profit and ROI cards and the Sales card’s Current FY option all start from 1 April of the current financial year, matching the profit and loss report.
Ledgers and expenses
Do I need to create ledgers for customers and vendors?
No. A ledger is created automatically for every customer and vendor you add in Customer Contacts or Vendor Contacts, with any opening balance posted. See Ledgers and Chart of Accounts.
Which expenses appear on the dashboard?
Entries posted to ledgers in the Indirect Expenses group. Expense This Month covers the calendar month, Total Expense the accounting year, and Most Spending names the single biggest expense ledger this month. Record expenses in Expenses or with a Journal Entry.
Profit and ROI
How is Net Profit calculated?
Sales (Direct Income) plus other income (Indirect Income), minus the cost of goods sold, minus indirect expenses, for the current financial year.
How is ROI calculated?
Net profit divided by total cost (cost of goods sold plus indirect expenses), as a percentage. It shows 0 % until you have sold something.
Why are Gross Profit and Net Profit different?
Gross Profit is sales minus the cost of goods sold. Net Profit then adds other income and takes away indirect expenses such as rent and salaries.
Cash and bank
Why doesn’t Bank Balance include my overdraft account?
Credit-type (CC/OD) bank accounts are a borrowing limit, not cash, so they are left out of the dashboard’s Bank Balance.
What is the Unreconciliate amount?
Bank payments up to today that have not yet been matched to your bank statement — the same figure shown in Bank Reconciliation. Reconcile them there to bring it down.
Where does Cash In Hand come from?
The running balance of the cash boxes at your locations. See Cash In Hand and Denomination.
GST
Where do I enter a customer’s or vendor’s GSTIN?
On the contact, under Tax Details: choose Registered in GST Yes, then enter the GST number and treatment. When importing, give the GSTIN and its GSTIN Type (for example REG, CMP or URB). See Customer Contacts.
How do I show GST and HSN details on invoices?
Keep Show GST on in your template and include the Tax Summary block, which prints an HSN-wise tax breakdown. See Document Templates. GST reports are under Reports.
