Assign Salary

How do I assign a salary to an employee in Tazk Payroll?

Open Salary → Assign Salary and click Add Salary. Step 1, pick the employees (filter by location, department or designation). Step 2, choose the salary template, enter the monthly gross and the Effective From date — the earnings and deductions are calculated. Step 3, review the summary and click Assign Salary. Each employee has one active salary at a time; a new one with a later date replaces it.

Tazk Payroll Assign Salary structure to Employees wizard, Scope step with Location, Departments and Designation filters and the employee list
  1. Click Add Salary. The Assign Salary structure to Employees wizard opens ("Assign a salary structure to one or more employees"), with Help and Cancel at the top and three steps — Scope, Salary Structure, Review & Assign.
  2. Scope — under Assignment Scope, choose the Location (required — employees are listed only after you pick one), and optionally Departments and Designation, then click Apply Filters (Clear Filters resets them). Search by name or code, tick the employees, and click Next.
  3. Salary Structure — choose the Salary Template, enter the Gross Salary (per month) and the Effective From date. For a template with Auto-Calculation off, enter each earning's amount instead. The earnings and deductions breakdown appears.
  4. Review & Assign — check the employees, template, gross, total earnings, total deductions and net monthly pay, then click Assign Salary.

You can also start from Salary → Overview → Unassigned Employees → Assign, with the employees already selected.

How do I change an employee's salary?

Assign a new salary with a later Effective From date. It shows as Upcoming until that date, then becomes Active and the old one Inactive. Once payroll has been processed for an assignment, its Edit and Delete are disabled — assign a new salary instead.

How do I import salary assignments?

Click Import and upload the Excel sheet: employee code and name, salary template name, gross salary and Effective From (DD-MM-YYYY). For a manual template, use one template per file with one column per earning; PF, ESI and PT are calculated, not entered.

Note: An employee without an active salary is not included in Salary Process. Check Salary → Overview for unassigned employees before running payroll.
