Attendance Questions
What attendance methods are supported?
Tazk Payroll supports nine attendance methods: GPS attendance, face recognition, QR code scan, selfie attendance, WiFi-based, manual (admin), offline mode, device/biometric, and mobile app check-in. Each can be enabled or disabled per employee.
Why can't I check in?
Common reasons:
- You are outside the GPS radius configured for your location
- Your attendance method is disabled in your Application Info profile
- You don't have App Access enabled
- The QR code has expired or been regenerated
- Face data has not been registered (for Face Attendance)
- Your device's location services or camera are turned off
Contact your admin to check your Application Info settings in Contacts > [Your Profile] > Application Info.
How do I request an attendance correction?
From the mobile app or ESS Portal, go to My Requests and submit an Attendance Correction request. Enter the correct check-in/check-out times and a reason. Your manager or admin will review and approve/reject it in the Approvals > Requests tab.
What is Offline Attendance?
Offline Attendance allows check-in/out without internet connectivity. Records are stored locally on the device and automatically synced when internet connectivity is restored. Ideal for remote sites and field locations.
How does Face Attendance work?
Face Attendance uses AI-powered face recognition. The employee's face data must first be registered by uploading clear photos. During check-in, the app camera captures the face and matches it against the registered data. This prevents proxy attendance and works without internet (matching happens locally on the device).
What happens if I forget to check out?
A missing check-out appears in the Punch Exceptions report under Reports. You have two options: (1) submit an Attendance Correction request via the app or ESS Portal, or (2) ask your admin to fix it via Attendance Process > Attendance Correction tab.
Can I check in from home?
Only if your admin has enabled the Work From Home toggle in your Application Info settings. If enabled, you can mark attendance from any location. If not, you must be within the configured GPS radius of your office to check in.
