Creating a New Asset
To register a new asset in the system:
- Navigate to Assets in the sidebar
- Click the + button in the top toolbar
- The Asset Creation form opens with an auto-generated asset code

Form Fields Explained

| Asset Type | Yes | Specific type within the group — e.g., Laptop, Land, Vehicle |
| Name | Yes | A descriptive name for the asset |
| Asset Owner | Yes | Department or entity that owns the asset (default: ASSETS) |
| Condition | Yes | New, Excellent, Used, Damaged, Expired, or Missing |
| Status | Yes | Available (default), Assigned, Under Maintenance, or Scrapped |
| Location | Yes | Physical location — Main office, Branch, Warehouse, etc. |
| Cost | Yes | Purchase cost in ₹ |
| Assigned To | No | Employee the asset is assigned to (optional at creation) |
Asset Photos
Upload photos of the asset using the drag-and-drop area. This helps with visual identification during audits.
Linked Renewals
At the bottom of the form, you'll see checkboxes for:
- Insurance — Check this if the asset has an insurance policy
- Warranty — Check this if the asset is under warranty
- Service Due — Check this if the asset requires periodic servicing
Checking these will prompt you to fill in the respective renewal details after asset creation.
Important: All fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are mandatory. The form will not submit without them.
Submitting the Form
- Fill in all required fields
- Upload photos (optional but recommended)
- Check applicable renewal boxes
- Click Submit
The asset will be created with the auto-generated code and appear in your asset list immediately.
Tip: The asset code is auto-incremented (e.g., 100036). You cannot manually set this code — it ensures uniqueness across your organization.
